The Government of Canada has come through with its share of funding for projects recommended to it by the Province under the Rural and Northern Communities stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
Bernadette Jordan, the Federal Minister of Rural Economic Development, has announced 10.4 million dollars for ten projects in Eastern Ontario.
The Province is putting up over 6.4 million for the same work, and the balance of the bills are being footed locally.
The money will support work in the Renfrew County communities of Madawaska Valley, North Algona Wilberforce, Renfrew, Brudenell-Lyndoch-and-Raglan and Admaston-Bromley.
The Town of Renfrew receives over $335 021 for street repairs on Ross Street and Arnprior Avenue.
North Algona Wilberforce will be redoing Letts Cemetery Road with $606 239 from the Feds.
Brudenell Lyndoch and Raglan receives $488,520 for the reconstruction of Riverbend Drive.
Admaston-Bromley will benefit from $673,578 to reconstruct Kennelley Road.
Madawaska Valley will rehabilitate almost twelve kilometres of Paugh Lake Road with just shy of 1.9 million in Federal Funds.
Projects must be completed by October 31st, 2026.
