The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP have charged a teenager for destroying deer statues at a park in Petawawa. Police say the incident happened in the overnight hours on Canada Day at the corner of Murphy Road and Petawawa Boulevard. Town staff called police to report that two deer statues in the park had been significantly damaged. As a result of the more than month long investigation, a 15-year-old from Pembroke has been charged with one count of criminal mischief under $5,000. Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the name of the individual can’t be released. The youth will appear at the Pembroke courthouse on September 19th to answer to the charges.
