Judicial pre-trial dates have been set in the Bill Kirby case. Kirby is facing over 20 charges including attempted murder, kidnapping, sexual assault and assault causing bodily harm. The charges against Kirby relate to four separate victims and alleged incidents dating back roughly 50-years. On Thursday, the preliminary trial for Bill Kirby wrapped up at the Pembroke courthouse. The victim who took the stand Thursday afternoon alleges that Kirby forced himself upon her on multiple occasions. He is also said to have burned her with a cigarette, but the crown dropped those charges because the incident took place in Quebec. The victim went on to say that Kirby had pointed a rifle at her and threatened to take her life while living in the Burnstown area. In September of 2018, Kirby was arrested after allegedly stabbing and leaving a different victim in a wooded area near White Lake. He was 72-years old at the time he was arrested. A judicial pre-trial has been set for September 13th at 2:00pm. It’s expected the trail will likely take place in spring or summer of 2020. Kirby is a former hockey referee in the Arnprior area and is currently out on bail.
