A vigilant resident made the difference in what could've been a life or death situation. Just before 11 a.m. yesterday (Mar 12) a 30-year-old was rescued from the freezing water at Centennial Park in Petawawa. According to the Pembroke Observer, a resident saw the man flailing in the water and called 911. Firefighters from the Town of Petawawa and Garrison Petawawa arrived and so did county paramedics. The man was treated for hypothermia by paramedics and then was taken to Pembroke Regional Hospital.
